Sarah McLachlan

Sarah McLachlan is an incredible singer/songwriter from Canada (born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, on January 28, 1968). Her vocal styling have an ethereal quality to them that many people find enchanting. She has become one of this decade's most influential female musicians.

She studied classical guitar, piano and voice as a child. Sarah was discovered by Nettwerk Records (one of Canada's largest record labels) at the age of seventeen, but reluctance from her parents kept her from signing with them for two years.

Sarah organized and headlined Lilith Fair, a music festival with all-female performers, which toured for three years, 1997-1999.
