Grimgroth is responsible for Western Europe, including the British Isles as well as Australia. He is the only non-original councilor, having been placed in charge of Goratrix's territory of France after Goratrix's disgrace. His territory was expanded at the time of the Great Reapportionment, brought on by the opening up of the New World.

He is often described as morose and is not noted for his original ideas, though his loyalty seems unquestionable. Still, he seems very unsettled and frequently moves his chantry, as often as every century or so. He currently resides in Rome. Some believe that his constant movement is due to his use of the ancient Druidic magics, which rely on raw vis, a magical energy which can become depleted if the mage using it stays in one place too long.

Rumor has it that one of the Kindred living in Grimgroth's Rome chantry is actually the outcast leader of the Order of Quaesitori, a group which has been offically banned from the clan. Another rumor, apparently from the same sources, says that Grimgroth and Goratrix met on several occasions prior to Goratrix joining the Sabbat. Either Tremere was unaware of these rumors when appointing Grimgroth or he was simply unconcerned with them.
