Meerlinda
Member of the Inner Council

Originally in charge of the British Isles, Meerlinda was given the North American continent during the Great Reapportionment. Long known as the most level-headed of the councilors, she frequently attempted to mediate the continual disputes between Goratrix and Etrius and is still the unofficial mediator for any and all in-council disputes.

Her early record is very impressive; it is thought that many of Etrius' suggestions for the creating of the Camarilla were actually Meerlinda's ideas presented by him. Her contribution to this effort as well as to the writing of the Code of Tremere should not be underestimated. It is a wise Tremere who recognizes the intelligence behind this woman's placid exterior.

Her appointment to North America was first considered a rather bad assignment; the entire continent was then raw and untamed and few thought it would ever be of much use to the Tremere. However, she has been instrumental in helping the continent grow to its current power, and the corresponding amount of personal power Meerlinda now holds has surprised many. It is interesting to note that it was Meerlinda herself, working through the 'sorceror' Dr. John Dee, who strongly encouraged British settlement and exploration of North America. Perhaps she realized early on the vast potential of these lands and took steps to help ensure that she would rule it.

She is also noted for her frequent support of outcast Tremere, and more than once she has tried to use these renegades to further her own personal schemes. It is said that her interest in these individuals stems from her desire to create a network of agents who might be willing to supply her with information on the Sabbat, Goratrix, and other non-Camarilla groups and individuals.
