Sects of the Kindred
For most of history, Kindred existed however they pleased, domineering, cowerering and controlling mortals. The Inquisition changed all that.
In the centuries since the Inquisition, most Kindred, belong to one of the two major sects that grew out of that dark period of Kindred History, the Camarilla or the Sabbat. They tend to see things in terms of black and white. They believe that all Kindred are members of their sect, and subject to their Laws. If you don't follow their rules, you are considered a traitor that must be destroyed, immediately if you claim allegiance to the Sabbat. They don't have any such all-encompassing views on membership. You're either with us or stay out of our way because we'll kill you.
Others have broken away from both sects and are part of what is now called the Anarch Movement. They are a small faction originally founded by Elders of the Ventrue, Lasombra, Malkavians and True Brujah clans. They were very active during the height of the Roman Empire, but eventually withdrew from the Jyhad after the Anarch Revolt and the diablerization of Cappadocius. The most visible members of the Inconnu are called Monitors. Their duty is simple: they watch, for new bloodlines, major supernatural incursions, and drastic power shifts within the Kindred community. They generally are able to remain apart from the Camarilla and the Sabbat's machinations, as do some Non-Aligned Clans.
